Description

Day 8 of 10 days of ocean/seascapes to commemorate the end of summer! The waterscape is very small and rather far here though...=P

This is the Avillion Port Dickson resort in Malaysia, which features rooms over the water. Port Dickson faces the Strait of Malacca and is about an hour by car away from Kuala Lumpur. It is low tide during this photo, but where those supports under those buildings are, normally there is water there.

This photo is a little deceptive. From a distance, the water reflects the sky and just looks gorgeous. However, up close, the water is actually brown and gray. It is not due to pollution, but because every time the water moves, it stirs up all the loose silt and sand from the bottom. As a result, when you look over your balcony, instead of seeing postcard-worthy tropical water, you see something that looks like miso soup gone bad!

So this photo is lying to me?!?! How dare it?! At least the lie looks nice. How close do you have to get for it to brownify? I like the this layer of cloud cover. The plants and especially the palm trees in the front have a nice splash of color and texture against the much lighter colors of the buildings, beach, and sea.
